WHO WE ARE
Robb Wallen is a fourth generation horseman, raised in the largest training and riding academy in the Midwest that his family owned and operated. He is the ninth child (of 12) of the well known Wallen family of horsemen, and was literally raised on horseback. Robb was taught at a young age the philosophy and techniques handed down from generations of legendary horsemen.
Robb has owned and operated his own training business for over 35 years. He has trained both horses and riders to countless regional, national and world champion titles in the Saddlebred, Morgan, Hackney, National Show Horse, Arabian and Friesian breeds. He respects the individual talents that each breed has to offer and is able to capitalize on these strengths to bring each horse to its’ fullest potential.
Robb has been recognized as a national Trainer of the Year, UPHA Horseman of the Year, and is a USEF large R licensed judge. His family has also been inducted into the International Saddlebred Hall of Fame. Robb has contributed training articles to breed publications as well as serving as a clinician at events throughout the country.
Betsy Wallen hails from the Morgan world. She was raised in Colorado and grew up involved in the Morgan youth program, serving as a Regional Vice President and the Youth President of the American Morgan Horse Association. She also won the title of the American Morgan Horse Association Youth of the Year and served as an ambassador to England to promote the Morgan breed. She has a degree in Equine Science from Colorado State University and has worked for the American Morgan Horse Association, The Morgan Horse Magazine and The International Morgan Connection. Currently, she manages the lesson and youth programs at Wallen West Farms and also serves on the Grand National Morgan Horse Show Committee and the USEF Morgan Breed committee. Combining Robb’s equine talent and expertise and Betsy’s equine knowledge and passion to mentor and educate young people, they have built Wallen West Farms. An inviting place for people of all ages to come relax and enjoy spending time with horses people who share a common passion.
